Overview

James E. Mitchell Elementary, Georgetown ISD’s tenth elementary campus,  opened it's doors in August 2008.  Our school was named for long time Georgetown resident, entrepreneur and GISD supporter, Jim Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell and his family were instrumental in the creation and support of  several Georgetown programs including Georgetown’s Partner’s In Education, PIE Mentoring, and Extended School Enrichment. The Mitchell family is also a longtime supporter of Rotary, as well as various other community organizations. Mrs.Mitchell and her children, Janet and Jim continue to actively support Mitchell Elementary.
